Prayers to God - It's real simple. Not a lot of formality is required nor rituals involved. That's right, God wants to hear from you now. The Bible tells us, "Men ought always to pray!" (Luke 18:1) God wants us to pray always, to tell Him about the things we want and/or need. What's that you ask? If God is all powerful and He knows what we want and/or need before we ask, why do we have to pray to ask Him for them?
The answer to that question is simple. God gave the human race complete authority in the earth. In fact, the Bible says that God gave our first parents 'dominion over all the earth'.

 "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth" (Genesis 1:26 NKJV)

Because we humans have dominion in the earth, God will not interfere with our free will, or get involved in our lives unless we ask Him to. That's where prayers to God come in. And because God loves us so much and really does want to be involved in our lives, He has given us prayer as a means by which we can invite Him to get involved in our lives. It is commonly believed by most people who believe in God, that because He is "all mighty" and "all powerful", that His failure to act when tragedy strikes, makes Him actively or passively responsible for not preventing the tragedy from occurring. In order to cope with the staggering contradiction of a "loving God" who allows terrible things to happen in our world, many well meaning men of the clergy try to console us with words like, "It must have been God's will!" or, "God works in mysterious ways, we don't always know why He allows things to happen, but we must have faith that He has a higher purpose!"

The real meaning of Christmas began more than two thousand years ago when the Lord of all Creation, the God of all that exists, asked His only Son to lay down His crown and come to planet Earth. Through the miracle of incarnation, He would be born of a virgin in small town called Bethlehem, His birthing place a stable, His bed, a manger. His name would be called Jesus. He would be a stranger in the world that He created, an alien among those whom He made in His own image and likeness. His mission, to reconcile a lost and dying world back to His Father God, to redeem any and all who would hear His voice and rise to the high calling of becoming the Sons of God.
